BELT LINE/CEDARVALE

Rene led today's hike labelled as her "Valentines Special". She can be seen posing at home before setting out to meet her participants complete with Pink Jacket and Heart shaped Glasses

Today's meeting point was at the Davisville Station

The group set off towards the Belt Line going through Oriole Park

Bea is seen checking out the conditions on the Belt Line and giving us the thumbs up

It was snowing and we were treated to a winter wonderland

It was unfortunate that Mary Moore had to drop out feeling under the weather from her recent bout of the flu

Crossing Oriole Parkway provided a challenge. Stanley manages to trip the "light fantastic"

Rene pauses to watch over her flock

She then gives the group a run down on the days proceedings

We continue along the Belt Line

Crossing back to the Belt Line after a comfort stop at the Larry Grossman Arena

Snow Squall

Dog Days of Winter

End of the Belt Line

Crossing Eglinton Avenue

Entering another Winter Wonderland

Luckily the path was cleared up to the Dog Park

Ilo turns for his photo

Climbing out of the ravine and ready for lunch

Lunch a la Loblaws

After lunch we visit the impressive Wychwood Barns. A one hundred year old streetcar facility now redesigned as art and cultural centre

One of the several doorways depicting the streetcars history

Leaving the Barns we head down Christie Street to Clintons

Tom tip toes through the slush crossing Dupont Street

Our final destination

We toasted Rene in absentia who unfortunately bowed out at lunch time. The group of Eight then  devoured sweet and regular potato fries

It was a day to remember in many ways. Mother Nature provided a spectacular show of how beautiful snow and ice can be. Certainly not a day to miss. Unfortunately we did miss Rene for the second half of the hike
