BALFOUR & RIVERDALE

Today our intrepid leader was Dorit and is seen her looking lovely as ever

66 members met at the Pleasant Blvd end of St. Clair Station

At the steps to David Balfour Park Dorit gives the group their orders for the day, Tony A volunteering to count and Elena as the sweep

And we're off!

Crossing the park for a early pee break (no photo's available)

Bladders emptied we descended into the ravine

We reached Mt. Pleasant Rd stopping for a water break and for the group to close ranks

We then walked through the "posh" streets of Rosedale to the busy Rosedale Valley Road. Dorit is seen here setting the pace as we head towards Bayview Avenue

We entered Wellesley Park and found our way barred at the steps

Dorit was concerned as the steps were open yesterday. Not to worry, Charles led a bushwalking foray up the hill making the hike that much more memorable

After a short walk we reached our lunch spot at Riverdale Farm and met up with the Turtles

The past meets the present, as seen here, standing rather presidential so to speak

Tony A pointed out this commemorative plaque in the Necropolis Cemetery. He wants a similar one to be remembered by as long as they are on sale

After lunch we kissed the Turtles goodbye and headed down through Riverdale Park

Then, down the steps on to the Don Trail

"Steppin' Out" along the Don Trail

Interesting and colourful graffiti

Barrelling through the Distillery District and smelling the flowers along the way

Walking through the Distillery gave us the urge for alcohol at the aptly name pub, "On the Rocks"

Nuestros amigos espaƱoles

About 30 people wet their whistle including these two "Old Codgers"

The group showed their appreciation with a boisterous cheer to a thirsty Dorit for todays enjoyable hike

Here's how we did it
