Today the Club celebrated the year with its Christmas Lunch. The new venue was held at Merel's condo party room. 100 members sat down to a lunch catered by the Mandarin and delivered to the condo.
Setting up the room required a good number of volunteers as well as tidying up after and replacing all of the furniture. Without Merel's planning and organizing the lunch would not have been the success it turned out to be. Neola, Merel's daughter, deserves to be singled out. From the outset she worked tirelessly on the entire event

Barry wins the final prize of the raffle. He's undecided about using it for coffee or for his ashes!
I think you must agree by the number of smiling faces the lunch was so successful that the venue could be a keeper? This in large part is a result of the following volunteers who generously gave their time
Ann Atkins, Bill Atkins, Bobbie Ardell, Evelyn Tasker, Helen Whiteman, Ilo Puhm, Irene Perry, Janet Treble, Janos Tichler, Mary Moore, Merel Elinkschuurman, Mike & Neola, Toni Norman, Patricia Good, Roger Whiteman

Merel shared a link to this blog. Regarding the number of happy faces it surely feels to be another great club activity. And apart from happy faces, I see a remarkable number of familiar faces. I trust you are aware of the uncommon percentage of membership activity. Many clubs will envy you.
ReplyDeleteI wish all of you a nice Xmas time.
