What a beautiful day for a bunch of Seniors', all 65 of us met at the Old Mill Station. A change in the planned route was necessary due to being barred from using the washroom facilities at the Old Mill Spa & Inn. Instead of starting our hike up the west side of the Humber we went up the east side where the public washrooms were located. Barry led the hike while I flitted about taking photo's
Walking past and "cocking a snook" at the Old Mill
Crossing over the Humber River to the east side
The view from the bridge shows the river silted up from the recent rainfall
Seniors' seen hanging about the toilets
Being snapped by Rene
Rene's black & white creation
Getting ready for the off!
5 km to go before lunch
Geese enjoying the turbulence
A gaggle of geese
A perfect place for Liliane to count
Public Art under the Dundas Street Bridge
Into the shade of Lambton Woods Park
Time for lunch and to admire the plantings at James Gardens
Two lone Turtles, Merel & Irene join us for lunch
Cindy pops by and joins us for the afternoon
Heading back towards Dundas Street with Rose singing the "Star-Spangled Banner"
Ann steps up to the challenge
Sharing the path with each other
I see you
Crossing the Humber from the west to the east side
Up the hill to Old Dundas St
Passing the Lambton House Inn circa 1847
Crossing over the Humber to the west side
View from the bridge
Down the road to Home Smith Park
Seniors' put out to grass
"Burrs" caused by the tree grain growing in a deformed manner
Comparison of human grown in a deformed manner
These weeds looked nice
Climbing up the hill passing the hanging gardens to the culmination of the hike (10 km)
After another 1.5 km the busy Dark Horse Pub was a welcome sight despite the lousy service
Thanks to my good neighbour, Barry, for leading the pack and to Rene & Tony for volunteering to Sweep. Liliane had her easiest counting duties but always deserves a pat on the back
